I was an agnostic was into new age stuff. Had a friend talk to me about
Jesus I told him I wasn't interested but after a few months he talked
me into goin with him to here a guy (Jessie Duplantis) preach . After he gave an alter
call I went up to call his bluff said the stupid prayer and got "born
again" and nothin ..I knew it was nothing. A few months later I moved
to another town and was in business for myself and was working mega
hours I decided to start going to Church. Mostly to get away from work
but because I heard some one say " you have to come by faith" so again
I called their bluff. One time the preacher stopped just after he
started and said " the Holy Spirit is here and wants to take over and
I'm not about to get in its way , so if anyone wants to get closer to
God come up and we will pray." I'm thinking "yea right" So I thought
this is going to be good so I went up to see what he had and call his
bluff.
All that went forward got in a line in the front of the
Church and started Praying. The pastor came to each of us and was
speaking in tongues, which I thought was a bunch of crap , and touched
each persons hands and in a few seconds they fell to the floor (called
falling out in the spirit) I was then thinking " what a bunch of crap,
they are falling down to get attention ,look at me I'm so Holy haha.
Was he in for a surprize when he gets to me I'm not goin down... I mean
you after at least believe in this crap right? So I stand there praying
My prayer wasn't very Godly lol it was " ok here I am do me,you want me
here's your chance".
When he did get to me he touched my hands
and spoke in tongues I'm lookin up and saying well? And right then
didn't my knees get week, I thought Bull s**t! I have been standing
here for almost an hour thats why my legs are weak ...nothing this
joker is doing. I leaned forward and locked my knees back so I wouldn't
fall. I felt myself falling and fought it more saying NO! I don't
believe in this it cant be. Then I hit the floor and right away tried
to get up but I could not move. I didn't know why I couldn't move I
tried again and again it was like I didn't have muscles. After about 10
minutes I was able to get up. Now I believe I am truly born again I
speak in tongues and am Spirit filled and have had many encounters with
The Holy Spirit.
And now I can tell you a fact ...Having a personal relationship with Jesus is the most Important Thing not just in life but everything.
